When the frost is on the Punkin’

I just had to share a snippet of my favorite autumn poem before the month is over. Just say the last line of this stanza in your head (or out loud!) and see if it doesn’t inspire a feeling of coziness.

“…But the air’s so appetizin’; and the landscape through the haze
Of a crisp and sunny morning of the airly autumn days
Is a pictur’ that no painter has the colorin’ to mock —
When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder’s in the shock.“
John Whitcomb Riley

October 31st is a special day for me – not for the candy, though (I can’t eat it anyway!). Every Halloween I remember an anniversary that does not delight the demons – 23 years ago today, I asked Jesus to be Lord of my 3 year old heart. Praise Jesus, He is Victor over the darkness of even this night!

That is so neat, Trina. What a lovely bright Light each year on an otherwise dark day.

I got the background from Cutest Blog on the Block, and then the template from blogger. 🙂
