Well, here we go! I have been looking forward to creating this quilt for months – today was the day to start! After obtaining the book, I headed straight to the office at the family business to get the pattern pieces copied and enlarged. My father-in-law and husband patiently figured out how to make the copier give me 400% enlargements, and I was on my way! I started cutting out pieces as soon as the Boy went to bed after lunch.
Six hours later, with a break in the middle to make, eat, and clean up dinner, I had nearly all the
squares cut out! Here is what it looks like laid out on the batting – sort of a rough draft of the finished quilt.
And here is the first finished square – whoo-hoo! This is way too much fun. Can you see why I was looking forward to this project so much? The cloth is sooo yummy! And what I love is that each piece has a story. I can hardly wait to tell my daughter about this quilt someday…
Ditto, Traci. The number of days left in the ticker is looking small to say the least. 16 days? Hardly worth counting!!>>Enjoy them! ๐
I love the way it’s coming together! The colors are really great.. >>I just looked at your ticker and I can.not.believe you only have 18 days to go! That just can’t be right, where on earth have the past nine months gone?
Beautiful work for a “non-quilter” ๐>Don’t you feel really productive now ?
sorry i haven’t commented in months! i love this quilt…it’s inspiration for the duvet cover that’s been on my to-do list for the past 6 months. =) The blue and purple fabric you have as the tiny middle square in the last picture is a fabric we have several yards of…my GrMa just gave us a bag of vintage fabric {from the 60’s believe it or not} and that is the same one! Crazy!?>>ps…did Anja decided on a photography school?
Looks like it’s going to be gorgeous!
