I have let beauty slip…have let it become optional to my day. This ought not to be.
I think it was the visit to my friend Amanda’s home while I was in Atlanta on Thursday that made me realize…I’ve been starving myself of beauty God designed us to appreciate and enjoy.
(Her house was like walking through Pinterest…She’s been so intentional about creating beauty, even with 2 and 4 year old boys in tow! I was so inspired! You can visit her blog here or follow her on pinterest)
So I’m trying to be a little more intentional about beauty in every day moments, beauty on a weekday, beauty on the bus, even.
I cleared a corner of counter this morning and ‘decorated’ for Thanksgiving. I’m stopping to take pictures of beauty in the ordinary; I’m taking time to creatively preserve the words my Father speaks to me in quiet moments (made possible by the awesome journal my friend Shannon gave me at Allume).
And it feels so right.
Have you slowed and sipped the beauty today?
P.S. I created something beautiful for YOU today–my November newsletter! It’ll be sent out later today–don’t miss it–subscribe this afternoon!
Yea, I have great aspirations of this one, but rarely do they come to fruition, but when they do I so enjoy them.
I think you need to do some printables of your handwritten verses….. 😉
This is one of those determinations that I have to keep making over and over again! I will keep counters and tables cleared off and candles added for beauty…for a few days…then the clutter takes over again. I need to continually keep on my guard to provide beauty not only for myself but for my husband and little ones too.
Just finished catching up on the last two weeks of your posts… delightful :). I love this! And need to work on it, for sure. Need to put more Pinterest into action in my life ;)!
It makes my heart happy to know you and Amanda were together!! How does one score personal time with either of you!!! 😉
Oh my…one must simply be in the same state at the same time!!! I had to be in Atlanta for my husbands business and Amanda entertained me for the afternoon!
