Out of the haze

I must apologize to our dear readers for the state of the blog. It has been all I could do to post a few (lovely, delicious) photos lately – I have been enjoying morning sickness off and on, and then a nasty cold set in. I tried to ignore it, sure I would be better in just another hour or two…Today I finally succumbed and have actually acted as sick as I felt. I have been on the couch all day, sipping concoctions of Pau-de-arco tea laced with cayenne pepper and ginger (oh, and a little honey, or you wouldn’t see me near the stuff), and blowing my nose (in between coughing my lungs out).

There, now, don’t we all feel better? You feel better because you’re not as sick as me, and I feel better because I got that off my chest.

The best part of the day was when Mom and Olivia and Anneke stopped by to cheer me up – and do some dishes. Olivia got to spend some time on the computer – a rare treat this month as Dad has been traveling a lot and taking the air-card with him. Then they left, leaving Anneke with me until she gets picked up for dance practice. I had enough energy to putz around and get meat marinating for dinner, then I was back on the couch. After lunch I had a most delicious and much needed nap while Anneke promised to take care of the boy – if he woke. He slept for nearly 4 hours, and woke up much more cheerful than when he went to bed. Now she has taken him out in the warm spring sunshine – which I would be doing if I had the energy – and letting him stomp around in his little red wellies to his heart’s content. I’m so grateful for her help! The boy loves going outside.

And I am signing off now, with the promise that the blog will look lively again just as soon as I feel better! I finally have pictures of Monique partying at the wedding and I can’t wait to show them to you…
