Christmas Birds

This is the first of a serious of posts to share with you the handmade treasures I both made and received this Christmas.

I’ve seen these birds from Spool all over craft blogs this season, but for once I did not mind being part of a fad!

I must have made 14 of these in the last week before Christmas – they made the perfect last-minute gift! And I enjoyed the opportunity to do a little bit of fun crafting – only possible because most of my gift buying and wrapping was done before December.

I made a few for myself, too, though they did not get finished till after Christmas. It will be so fun to bring them out next year, and I think I may add a few to the flock each year – wouldn’t that be a fun tradition?

Trina, I don’t think the link works works to the pattern. I love these, and would love to make some. I really need to make some Christmas ornaments. Yours are so cute.

Very cute birds!Hey, I know you are much too busy for much of anything these days but I wanted to let you know that I’m hosting a blog challenge this month. The challenge is two fold, and I know you don’t have time to blog daily but if you think you’d have time to post 3 pictures each week of anything you find beautiful then you could win that one. (And by the way, those are some beautiful kids of yours so I think that the pictures you’ve been posting would definitely qualify ๐Ÿ˜‰ If you want to be considered just let me know. You can comment on this post so that I know you’re playing along. http://tracitales.blogspot.com/2008/12/contest-looking-ahead-to-2009.html
