Visiting a (nearly) forgotten era…

Last week I had the opportunity to try on a hat I haven’t worn in a while – that of custom seamstress…

My task? To custom fit and add some frills to this lovely dress to prepare it to be worn in a photo shoot for a girlfriend of mine. The dress was actually made by my sister, Olivia – a lovely, authentic late 1700’s gown made of a thrifted brocade curtain. I really enjoyed working with the gown, and the end result…

Thanks to my friend, Sarah, for the opportunity to be involved and permission to publish these photos,  and her sister, Abigail,  who took these lovely photos during the professional photo shoot. You can see a few more shots over at Abigail’s blog.
