Today I reveled in the gift God has given to me in my man. And the gift He gave us when he paired us together.
My man is your typical ‘steady’ guy – quiet, practical, hard working, and dependable.
But there’s this side to him that comes out–just often enough to be fun, and not so much as to freak me out–his adventurous side.
Way deep down, under his steady reliability, my man has the ability to dream. Big dreams. He’s not afraid of change. He lets his mind go where perhaps only the Spirit of God has gone before (you know, those higher, different ways of looking at things) and then, he invites me to come with him.
And that’s where I rejoice in God’s gift to us. Because me? I love adventures. I’m like that girl in the drive-through check-out in that car commercial from a few years ago–she sees the handsome young man in his sweet ride and, as she hands him his paper bag order, she whispers desperately, “Take me with you!”
I’m always ready for adventure. So, when my husband came home for lunch today with a twinkle in his eye, and clued me in to his latest dream, I was all ears.
Whether it’s a picnic together at a state park or an entrepreneurial idea,
whether it happens today or only ever in our dreams,
the greatest gift is that we get to dream together and we both enjoy the ride.
