I got the last ones addressed today! I am putting this on the blog because I was not able to send one to everyone in my address book! I did a Christmas card for the first time this year, mostly to keep in touch with the family and friends who don’t have internet – like grandparents.
I made my own ’cause I love handmade stuff, and ’cause it was cheaper! Compare:
Photo cards on Snapfish: $.75 each
Vs.
Paper from dollar store: $.08 per card
photo ordered from snapfish: $.12
Sewing instead of adhesive: FREE
Homemade star rub-on FREE
Having all the room I wanted to say exactly what I wanted: PRICELESS
Total: $.20 each
I know I won’t always have the time to make my own Christmas greeting, but this year I did enjoy the opportunity to express myself just the way I wanted in my own style. Thanks to Jeremy for formatting the text for me. (Someday I will learn how to use the fancy programs on our computer – my ideas can never be achieved in Word, but that’s all I know. Jeremy always makes my 2-dimensional dreams come true in Adobe. ๐ Thanks, Honey!)
To find out how I made my own rub-ons, you can check out this page. It doesn’t work as well as store bought rub-ons, but when you want a custom design, it’s handy.
Well, we all may be a bit too busy celebrating family traditions and making memories in the next two weeks to post much – I’m just warning you! But I have some neat ideas for the blog for January – new look, cool content, and more! ๐
Just wanted to say a quick welcome to our newest readers – Jane and Jodie. Welcome to both of you! You can visit Jodie’s Blog too!
Today I am going to start wrapping presents. Anja has already nearly finished hers – I am hoping she will post some photos, as I have heard she did a gorgeous job! We always enjoy putting a little extra time into unique wrapping, and I am going to show you what I am doing for a few gifts, as well. Maybe you will get some inspiration for yours?
Have a great day!
aww, what a beautiful card! for the years you don't have time to make your own, check our Target. $44 for 100 holiday picture cards. ๐ with up to 9 pictures! i was pleased. ๐
the end.
have a very merry Christmas!!!
amanda~
I really like the card design Trina. ๐
Olivia, brown paper packages tied up with duct tape does not have the same ring as tied up with string :p But since I know you LOVE duct tape, why don't you use crepe paper rather than brown grocery bags that way you could say your gifts were colorfully wrapped in crepe and tied up with duct tape… ๐
Wow that is such a neat idea, i'm not too crafty myself…but i love the idea of only spending 20cents per card and having as much room as you want to write ๐ Priceless that is definitely! I loved the wording of the post!
I love the way you girls and guys write,, this blog is awesome!
