I love it when I find a recipe that has all the makings of an instant family classic -something that can be made quickly and easily from ingredients I usually have on hand. Tasty AND nutritious. Last week I discovered a new favorite when I made Pepperoni Rolls from one of my favorite cooking blogs – Tammy’s Recipes
I had sprouted wheat flour on hand, so I used that in the dough with a good result.

After spreading the dough with sauce, cheese, pepperoni and herbs, I rolled it up and cut them just like sweet rolls. I brushed the tops with a beaten egg and then sprinkled them with Parmesan cheese before baking.
Just 30 min. in the oven, and I had a tasty meal-to-go – we were headed out for the afternoon and I wanted to take dinner with us instead of spending money out. The rolls sat in my Pampered Chef stoneware pan with tinfoil over them for over an hour and were perfectly warm when we were ready to eat dinner. We ate right in the car and it was really convenient and even Jesse didn’t make a huge mess! 🙂 Oh, and did I mention they were Delicious?
this reminds me of the pizza bread my mom will make on rare occasions…i’ll have to give this a try. 😀
wowsers! my kids would love these! and i love the idea of food i can take on the go.. anything to avoid the siren song of the drive thru (and the expense!)
thanks for sharing☺
This looks like a great idea – I’ll have to give it a try!
