I am so excited with how Jesse’s room turned out. It has given me confidence that I am able to design a room – you would never know I used to be afraid of color and just wanted to paint everything white in our first home!

My inspiration for this room was these green paper lanterns that I got from a friend’s wedding. I saved them for two years, planning all along to use them just like this…thanks, Hannah!

The biggest change in this room was a repostioning of the this cupboard. Before, it was in the middle of the wall, and felt out of proportion in this small bedroom. We pushed it into the corner (which had been an odd, little, wasted space) but as you can see, it still stuck out like a sore thumb.

Painting it same as the walls made them look like part of the wall and created harmony.

This created a cute little spot for Jesse’s new crib, which we found on Craig’s List for 1/3 of the original price – and it wasn’t used 4 times!
All the crib linens I got for $10 at a garage sale – Classic Winnie the Pooh – and they match the decor!
I absolutely LOVE it!!!!!!! A perfect little boys room. The paper lanterns are awesome!
Awesome!! I totally *love* it, Trina, and I'm sure Jesse enjoys his new room!
See you tomorrow!
It looks wonderful!
I think I said this in a past comment but I will say it again. :p I love the colors in Jesse's room! ๐ Oh and that cupboard looks great.
Hey, Olivia ๐ Glad you stopped by ๐ I figured you might be slightly confused ๐
No, the kid isn't mine ๐
Trina (24) is married to Jeremy (he posts occasionally) and it is their baby, Jesse.
Then there is Anja (20) and she is not married and lives at home.
These are all pictures of Trina and Jeremy's new house.
I have 4 other siblings as well. But they aren't contributers to the blog, so I won't confuse you with them. If you hang around long enough you will get to know them soon enough ๐
Hope this has helped your confusion ๐
Ooooooh – I Like it lots! Many years ago I painted my younger brothers' bedroom in three primary colors. Small circles all over. It was only up a year and then younger sisters moved in and wanted purple. ๐ Oh-well it was fun!
Hey Olivia Joy,
Awesome blog. Okay I'm a little confused you're going to have to tell me how many siblings you have (names and ages) and how many of them are married. I am assuming that is Trina's son's room? Have I got that much right? Comment me back. Olivia C.
Wow! Love the colors, and I love the paper lanterns too!
(I like green!) ๐
What a fun room! I love the circles on the wall that echo the paper lanterns. It looks like a place to be happy in.
Wow, you did a great job! That is such a cute room!
I look forward to seeing the rest of the house as well. ๐
SO cute! I love seeing the progress!
What a cute room! I love the colors!
