Here Comes Christmas!

On Saturday we went and got our tree! I was so excited – we’ve never gotten our tree this early – it’s still November!
We enjoy the u-pick experience, usually going with family and friends and loading 4 or 5 trees on one of the business trucks to haul them home. We all packed onto the hay trailer that is pulled behind the tractor out to the woods, and joined in singing ‘O Christmas Tree’ – the one that goes,
“Oh, Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree!
Oh Christmas Tree,
Oh Christmas Tree!”
and so on… ๐Ÿ™‚

We searched and searched, and went inside for hot cocoa and cookies, and went out and searched again. Jesse found a tiny tree that he thought would fit in his bedroom. (right)Then we finally found our tree, maneuvered the child in place for our family Christmas photo (left), chopped it down, and brought it home to decorate.

Jesse had fun when we came home to decorate. I’d picked out some purple balls at the Christmas tree farm. He thought the big plastic tube was a blast, and ‘rode’ it all around the house. When I opened them up I found out why they weren’t all shattered – they were plastic! ๐Ÿ™‚

The night would not have been complete without some treats. I made my first batch of biscotti for my hsuband to dip in his esspreso. I had a little bit of honey-sweetened apple crisp left over from Thanksgiving. The tree turned out really nice – I’ll tell you more about my theme for it another time…

For centuries men have kept an appointment with Christmas. Christmas means fellowship, feasting, giving and receiving, a time of good cheer, home. W.J. Ronald Tucker

Hey Olivia- we miss you! Analisa won her first game 15-2 and they tied the second 10-10 before the varsity took over. It was okay, because they were playing a team from a school of 1,300 compared to their 93 students.

    And- the biscotti looks yummy!

ROFL!! I kid you not, I was about to say how much I loved that bow on the top of his hat ๐Ÿ˜› Haha looks like you guys had a lot of fun! I have driven by Christmas tree farms but never been to one to actually pick out your own tree.

We interrupt your reading for a very important fyi from the boy's daddy. That is NOT a bow on his hat in the top left photo. It's on the building behind us.

We now return you to your normally scheduled reading already in progress…
