left – the washroom shortly before we began painting. I guess a true “before” picture should have shown the piles of junk the auctioneers left in here – this room had everything from Harriet’s old pantry food to dentures to her husband’s shaving kit (he died in the 70’s).
Painting it in a nice cream color really lightened up the room, and Jeremy installed my washer and dryer in front of the stair well to the basement.
I love the contrast in these two photos – yes, that really is the same corner! We put the fridge where the dysfunctional sink had been, and that lovely blue table is where I fold laundry! This room is directly off the kitchen, and the stairs are also off this room.
And the newest addition is the new door! The old one was rather gross. The new one is such an improvement, and with its large pane of glass, I keep glancing in thinking the door is open!
I am very grateful for a room in which to do the laundry – keeping that continual mess out of the bedroom, living room, bathroom – everywhere I used to have to do it! It’s also a good room for projects and stashing stuff when company comes! ๐
Old shaving kit and dentures? Ugh! Love what you did to the space.
Aw gee you mean you didn't save those dentures for a spare? lol ๐ :):)
