The roses are here! I was a ball of nerves until I actually got them safely home (a 45 min. drive) and tucked away in a nice, cool fridge for the night. Tomorrow the bliss begins as I will arrange some of them before our two hour drive to the rehearsal dinner.
This afternoon I tackled Mount Laundry, did the ironing, packed our suitcase, and the child’s bag (which he promptly began unpacking on rising from his nap), and managed to tidy the length of the house so we can leave it in some semblance of order tomorrow. I also helped Monique get ready for the square dance – some friends gave her a darling blue calico skirt and froofy petticoat to wear. She is spending the night in the guest room and will depart with us tomorrow.
I am greatly looking forward to a weekend spent in the company of dear friends and family, dancing, playing with flowers, and celebrating yet another friends entrance into holy matrimony.
Oh, Monique! Wait 'til you meet Monique. She has been the object of many a conversation and a few jokes at her expense. She has even had poetry written about her.
We had her as the guest book attendant at our wedding.
She will have a formal introduction at some point, I'm sure.
oh! the suspence! Who is monique?
That confirms my suspicion that perhaps Monique is not a person! Right? 🙂
Tell Monique to break a leg! And take some wood glue along!
I hope Monique has a good time at the wedding. You should take pictures of the roses, I want to see them!
