Our Anniversary, part 2

Have you ever seen anything more darling???

My family’s anniversary gift came in the form of miniature pies – two apple and two cherry-almond crumb.

Each was packaged individually in little jelly jars and were ready to bake or freeze for later.

I was blessed ’cause I had not had time to make dessert for our special dinner, and Jeremy was blessed because Pie is his love language. 😉
Dinner didn’t happen till 8:30 that night – after we had gotten all the apples pressed into cider for our party (34 gallons! we never could have done it without my inlaws pitching in!), and the kids were fed and put to bed. We had Chicken Cordon Bleu, Rachel’s Twice Baked Potatoes, and Mandarin Orange Salad. Oh, and Wine from Red Newt Cellers – thanks again to my mom and dad, who gave Jeremy a gift certificate for his birthday.

Dessert baked while we ate, and I served it with the Haggan Das Vanilla Ice Cream that came with it. I swear it was the most delicious thing I ever put in my mouth. I’m so excited that there are two little pies still in the freezer waiting for another special occasion.
Thanks to all our family who helped us celebrate 4 years of marriage.

That is the greatest gift idea. You baked the pie in the jelly jar, right?
