The New Year’s Party

I was lazy and didn’t take my camera to our New Year’s Eve celebration. It was kind of a “let’s just enjoy the moment” idea. In the end I regretted it, ’cause we had so much crazy family fun, you won’t believe it unless you see it!

The party was at my mom and dad’s, with 30 people (but only 5 families :)) and went from 5:00 untill, well, the last people to go to bed confessed that it was after 3am.

We played the Dutch Peppermint Game, I Sent My Ship A-Sailing, The Pencil Game, Caroms (a dutch game similar to pool), Moods, Apples to Apples, and, Hug the Candle Holder, which was quite the most memorable!

Food was awesome, too, the highlight of the evening being the delectable, deep-fried, Dutch donuts served hot with a heavy dusting of powdered sugar. I ate 4, but that didn’t come close to A—‘s total, or so I heard! ๐Ÿ™‚

After midnight we had a time of prayer for the New Year – for protection, growth, renewal, and for the friends and family members who do not yet know the Lord – that this would be The Year they would come to a saving knowledge of Him. Jeremy played guitar as we sang Robin Marks songs. Even though I began to fall asleep during the prayer time ๐Ÿ™‚ it was a great evening!

Joanna did have her camera on most of the night – If I can get photos from her, you shall have to endure them…Meanwhile, enjoy Anja and Olivia’s Year in Pictures! Be sure to go to ‘Older Posts’ when you get to the bottom of this page, ’cause there’s more on the next page!

Happy New Year!
