Today is his 2nd birthday. I am writing this scheduled post days in advance, as I’m actually going to be running wedding-related errands all day on his birthday. (I keep telling myself this will bother me much more than it bothers him – it’s not helping much.) But we are planning a nice little family celebration further in the week, when the rest of his aunties are back from their vacation. Meanwhile, here’s a little post in honor of our precious boy, Jesse Lincoln, two years old today.
The other night when we had Rachel and Jake for dinner, he set the table.
After putting a fork at each place, and a napkin under each fork, the job was officially done, but because he loves helping…
…he continued to arrange things oh-so-carefully, counting as he worked – “Dwo, Dwo, Dwo.”
When my back was turned, he took thinks a step further and stuck half the forks into the sour cream container. Don’t worry – he didn’t get scolded – that look is probably just confusion at mommy bothering to take a picture of the sour cream instead of him. 🙂
He helps to clear the table, too, when I remember to let him.
He is my “little treasure boy” and I have loved every moment of the first two years of being his mother.
Happy Birthday, Boy!
