In Which We Confess Our Mess and Vow to Be Good

Notes from things I forgot to say…the beauty of my home management notebook is that I now can actually see where I will have time to tackle this Mt. Everest of organizational challenges. My notebook has been the final tool that has helped me be productive AND find rest in my schedule! And for me, I find rest in creating. So, gotta get the studio clean. I’m looking forward to sharing what I learn with you along the way…

Please tell me I’m not alone (’cause, you know, miserly loves company?) Do you have a mess or organizational challenge you need to tackle in the new year? Are you wondering how to find the time or gumption? I believe we could do it together. That’s what friends are for, right?

Hey, everybody! Wow, it's like a party here today! Thanks everyone for stopping by and saying hi! I no longer feel so alone. In fact, the studio's getting a little crowded – can you all scooch over so I can finish vacuuming? LOL

I'm glad we have a few gals here with home notebooks – I'm looking forward to chatting more about that and finding out what works for you.

I'm so grateful ya'll have joined me…I appreciate the support and enthusiasm! OK, getting off now to do my organizing for the day… ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for sharing! It is an encouragement to see we all have messes. I think the main thing I want to do is begin to tackle some of the deep cleaning tasks I have neglected for so long.

Sure fire way to deal with your organizational challenges? Throw it all away and/or leave it all for someone else to deal with and move to the far reaches of Alaska! ๐Ÿ™‚

My biggest challenge right now? Finishing that initial thorough clean of the new house so that I can start filling it with stuff…

My desk is the biggest hot spot in the house. I recently bought a smaller desk to try and change this. But now stuff just gets piled on the floor. I look forward to learning about your notebook – I've wanted to do one for awhile but haven't.
My 17-month old daughter Lilly passed away Dec. 15 (Trina – the little girl with Trisomy 18 in Fuquay-Varina) and I've been trying to deal with all her things. What to leave out, what to store, what to sell …
Not just with Lilly's things – but with so much of our “stuff” – we can be so emotionally attached and that makes it harder to pack up or get rid of stuff!

We're in the process of moving, but when we do get a new home I would like to buy 31 Days to Clean and keep on that schedule….so that cleaning just doesn't overwhelm me. And I would also like to learn how to tolerate dusting – because right now, I just don't do it. LOL

Organizational issues?! My house was built in 1904 — apparently they had no “things” then, hence two very small closets in the whole place! I've gotten rather crafty, but still — have you seen my pantry?! Yikes…

This is wonderful- thanks for the post! My home desperately needs organizing (and my studio looks way worse than yours! :)…it's been in the plans for awhile now and each time I'm about to start I find myself pregnant (again) and sick and tired, etc. My baby turns 1 tomorrow and I've been feeling like I can (and should) try again! I'm anxious for any tips you might have (I have 3 children as well)!
Also, I have a home planning notebook too! I know mine provides a good bit of sanity to my life. I'm anxious to hear all about yours- I'm always looking for ways to make mine more efficient.
I've been reading your blog for several months now and this is the first time I've commented. I want you to know that I appreciate your blog so much Trina!

Ha–you are SO not alone!! I love the fact that you were so open and honest about this. It takes a lot of courage! My organizational demons are rearing their ugly heads with a vengeance this year, so I am going to do my best to tackle them before they get out of hand. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Can't wait to hear more about your notebook! Sounds like it's just what I need…

Love your candid honesty… this made me laugh :). My office looks pretty similar right now! My goal for this year is one room at a time, 20 minutes each week day. Starting with the nursery. Ready set go! ๐Ÿ˜€
