We were so glad to see the sunset finally on Thursday night – a long, hot day in the bus without air conditioning had us all beat. A few hours after dark we reached our next stop – the K—–‘s in Kansas City, Kansas. Here is the sunset from one of the bunks in the back of the bus…
The next morning held promise for another highlight of the trip – I got to meet Natalie for the first time face to face!
Natalie and I have known or known of each other for over 6 years. The year before I was married, she invited me to join an on-line writer’s group, and thus began one of the most rich and exciting season of my life! With the encouragement and critiquing of Natalie and the other girls in the group, I was spurred on in my desire to write both non-fiction and poetry. That season is what gave me the foundation for my writing, and the motivation and practice that is now making Tipi Tales (and my some-day book!) a reality!
Natalie has published several books herself which I can highly recommend. Check out her website at ylcf.com and enjoy her blog as well! She has honored me by using one of my poems in the frontispiece of one of her books, as well as reprinting Tipi Tales on her blog!
It was a delight to finally meet her face to face, though I still can’t believe that’s me in the picture next to her!
Aww. 🙂 You are a dear. :hugs:
I am so glad that you were able to meet Natalie, Trina! I have been able to meet some of my online friends, and it is such an awesome blessing.
I have enjoyed reading YLCF for a long time now…
Weird, you know Natalie? Strange. Small world . . .
Wow, that is really cool you got to meet an online friend face to face! I have several of those myself I would love to meet in person
It's so much fun to meet online friends in person. Natalie looks like one of the girls on the CurlyGirl site…..is it her?
