We have been enjoying almost daily bike rides this month. We eat dinner, and one or the other of us hints at his or her desire for an after dinner bike ride. The other readily agrees, we announce it to Jesse (so he can begin looking forward to it), and we make our preparations. I wash up quickly, determined to come home to a clean kitchen, while Jeremy and Jesse get the bikes ready. Jesse sits in his stroller on the patio, singing, watching Daddy hook up his trailer. Meanwhile, I rinse the last dish, dry my hands, and hang up my apron. I throw the diaper bag and a water bottle into the back of the trailer so we will be prepared for anything. A hello to a nieghbor as we bump down the driveway, a quick discussion over which way we should go when we exit the trailer park, and we’re off.
I have loved seeing Ovid from the seat of a bike – slow enough to take in the beauty of people’s yards and gardens, and the architecture of an old house. I love the peacefulness of having a back road I’ve never seen before all to ourselves – It always brings me back to the homestead.
On Sunday we did a little trip on our way up to Jeremy’s parent’s for Bible study in the evening. Monday we put the bikes on the rack and went up to Seneca Lake State Park in Geneva and did 6 miles on the trails there. Tuesday we did a ‘country block’ – 6 miles through such sweet little hills and dales and woods, just outside of Ovid. I thought I was in a different country. We saw deer and rabbits and wild flowers and private little streams. Last night Jen agreed to shuttle for us so we could ride all the way down to Sampson State Park. It was down hill most of the way, so it was nice to have the car for the ride home! 20 miles so far this week!
Thank you! I'll have to see if the K-mart here has one.
I found this helmet at K-mart. The only brand marking it has on is Disney. We looked in several places to find a small one.
Well seeing as you haven't blogged today I guess I will just have to comment on an old post, come to think of it I never comment on stuff on your blog anyways:)
So how is life with you?
Other than having a blazing headache, a broken foot, too much product in my hair and a lot of packing to do I have never been better in my life.
Judah calls my new retainers "dentures",It tends to annoy me if you know what I mean. For the record for anyone I don't know that reads this comment I do not have dentures!
Well dad is home and that means that my computer time has expired.
When you go to the dentist and they begin to work on your mouth and you have the undeniable urge to bite down HARD…..Just don't. (From the voice of experience)
Where did you get Jesse's helmet? We can't seem to find a baby-sized helmet anywhere in town, so I think I may have to order it. I really like the idea of someone shuttling for us…that opens up a whole new world of possibilities!
Hi Trina! ๐
What great pictures…but then again I always like all the pictures you post- ALL of them, even if some people don't. ๐ I noticed that one picture was missing, oh well. You are a good sister! ๐
Did Mrs.Holden tell you about my visit with Robin? I was not too happy about it, especially at first, but I decided that I'm in it for the long haul…no matter how long, even two years long. But, I'm determined to cut some time off of that. You have been such an encouragement to me in this "trek", Trina- thank you for that! I can't wait to see you on Sunday, so I can talk to you about it all!!
Well, I'm off, I need to go check the chocolate no-bake cookies I made for tonight when Jason, Rachel, and Elijah stop up! :):) I was totally good with making them, and I'm even enjoying the smell. Progress.
Jesse is so cute,I just wish he could pop off the screen whenever I wanted him to…on second thought that is probably not a good idea.
Today is the day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I woke up this morning and said to my self,"self, something is happening today",then it hit me and i bounded out of bed (actually it was more like a hobble)I hopped downstairs and took a shower and we are leaving soon but I was so exited that I just had to do something while I waited.
When you are driving down the road and you feel the urge to let go of the wheel and scream at the top of your lungs……just don't.
