The Dinning Room Gets a Face Lift

Last month the dinning room finally got a face lift. We don’t plan on painting it till next year, but there was still some things we needed to do in there, which we got just in time to decorate for the holidays.I brought my antique buffet home from my mother’s. She had stored it for me since she gave it to me for our first Christmas together. She knew how I always wanted a buffet…

It’s the perfect height to decorate and then the kids can’t reach it. It is one of the spots in my house that I plan to decorate seasonally. This was my fall display. Reflected in the mirror you can see the purple color we DID NOT paint the living room. (aren’t we all relieved?)

We also put the hutch together – the top half had been sitting against the opposite wall. Put together, reaching almost to the ceiling and filled with delft china, it adds an elegance to the room. And some day this free piece of furniture is going to get a make over. You wait. It’s gonna be amazing.

And – tada! I have found that I can now grow house plants. It wasn’t my fault my plants always died – our trailer didn’t have any sunny enough spots. But our new house has several perfect plant habitats. My spider plant has doubled in size in 3 months – and this little curly willow plant is looking very content in the dinning room.
